If you’ve been around the Indian smartphone scene for a while, you know that the Redmi Note series has always been a favourite. Whether it was the Note 4 that ruled the budget market years ago or the Note 10 Pro that brought AMOLED to the mid-range, Redmi has consistently managed to hit that sweet spot between price and performance.
Now, in 2025, Redmi has unveiled the Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+, and I recently got my hands on both. After spending some time unboxing, checking the design, display, and cameras, here’s what I honestly feel — these phones might just redefine what we expect from a ₹25–30K smartphone.
Unboxing Experience: Familiar Yet Refreshed
When I first saw the box, I noticed Redmi has made subtle changes to its packaging this year. The box is bright red with white text, giving it a clean yet bold look. Inside, you get the essentials — a TPU case, SIM ejector tool, documentation, and of course, the phone itself.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ also includes a 90W fast charger with a Type-A to Type-C cable, while the standard Note 14 Pro comes with a 45W charger. So, Redmi isn’t cutting corners in the charging department, which is great news for heavy users.
Design and Build: Not Your Typical Redmi Look
Honestly, this is where I got a bit surprised. Redmi has taken a bold step in design this year. Both phones look and feel far more premium than their predecessors.
The Note 14 Pro+ comes with a 3D curved glass design, while the Note 14 Pro features a vegan leather finish that feels really nice in hand. The dual-tone style — a mix of shiny and matte textures — gives the phones a fresh character.
When I first held the Pro+, it felt slightly hefty, but in a good way. The reason is the massive 6200mAh battery inside. The weight is around 211g, while the Pro is a little lighter at around 195g.
To me, this heavier feel actually adds to the sense of durability. And yes, both come with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and a Gorilla Glass 7 back — quite impressive for this segment.
Display: Bright, Curved, and Beautiful
Now, let’s talk about that display — one of the biggest highlights of the Note 14 series. Both the Pro and Pro+ feature a 6.67-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with 3000 nits peak brightness.
Watching Netflix in Dolby Vision on this screen is a delight. The colours are rich, blacks are deep, and the screen-to-body ratio of 93% makes the viewing experience truly immersive. Whether you’re gaming, scrolling Instagram, or watching reels, this display just feels premium.

Performance and Software Experience
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, while the Note 14 Pro gets the Dimensity 7300 Ultra.
In my short time using them, both performed well in daily tasks — switching between apps, scrolling, and streaming was smooth. Benchmark scores are also decent, hovering around 6.5–7.3 lakh on AnTuTu.
Gaming-wise, BGMI runs smoothly at 60FPS on the Pro+, though I wish it supported 90FPS. The thermals stay under control thanks to the 5000mm² vapour cooling system, which really helps during long gaming sessions.
Both phones run on HyperOS based on Android 14, with an update promise of 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches. That’s a solid commitment for mid-range devices.
There are a few AI features baked in too, like live call translation, AI subtitles, Circle to Search, and AI interpreter mode. You can even use AI tools in the gallery like Smart Erase and Image Expansion — pretty handy for quick edits.
Camera: A Big Leap for Redmi Notes
Now, cameras are where Redmi is clearly trying to step things up.
The Note 14 Pro+ comes with a triple-camera setup — a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto lens, which is quite rare in this price bracket. Meanwhile, the Note 14 Pro gets a 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro shooter.
In daylight, the photos look sharp with balanced colours and nice dynamic range. Portraits taken at 2.5x on the Pro+ look fantastic — clean edges, natural skin tones, and good depth. Low-light shots are also surprisingly good with less noise than expected.
On the video side, you can record 4K at 30FPS from the main camera and 1080p at 60FPS from the front. There’s also support for AI-based enhancements and Pro mode if you love manual control.
Battery Life & Charging: Big and Fast
Battery life is another strong point. The Pro+ packs a massive 6200mAh unit with 90W fast charging, while the Pro carries a 5500mAh battery with 45W charging.
In my tests, the Pro+ easily lasted over a day and a half with moderate use — calls, social media, camera, and some Netflix. The charging is super quick too; the 90W charger juices it up from 0–100% in about 35 minutes.
For someone who travels or works on the go, that’s a huge relief.
Connectivity & Extras
Redmi has checked almost every box here — Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G support, NFC (only on Pro+), IR Blaster, and in-display fingerprint sensor.
Both phones also feature stereo speakers, Dolby Vision, and Widevine L1 support, making them great for multimedia lovers.
Plus, there’s IP68 certification, so a few splashes or dust won’t hurt them — though Redmi says the Pro+ is even capable of IP69, just not officially certified.
Final Thoughts: The Note Series is Evolving Beautifully
After spending time with both these phones, I can confidently say that Redmi has matured its Note series. These devices are not just “good for the price”; they actually feel premium in the hand, perform well, and look stunning.
If you’re someone looking for a powerful all-rounder under 30,000, both the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ deserve a serious look.
The Pro+ is perfect if you want top-tier performance, great battery life, and that curved display feel. The Pro, on the other hand, gives you a near-flagship experience at a slightly lower cost with that classy vegan leather touch.
Yes, I wish they came with Android 15 out of the box and UFS 3.1 storage, but apart from that, there’s really not much to complain about.
In short, Redmi seems to have once again hit that perfect balance between performance, design, and value — and that’s what the Note series has always been about.
